Health and Social Care

The local authority has a duty to ensure that joint commissioning includes health and social care provision for any child or young person with SEND in education or training.

The ICB (Intergrated Care Board) previously known as the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) is responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services in Southend.  As local authorities are responsible for public health, the ICB works closely with them. They work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for the local community.

The Children with Disabilities Service provide support for children and young people 0-18 years old with disabilities in Southend.
